The property was built in the late 1970's of reconstituted Cotswold stone, situated within a gathering of eight terraces with a lovely outlook to the rear and benefits from being convenient to Stroud centre, with a short walk to the river and canal with fantastic walks along the canal path, up to Butterow and Rodborough.

Stroud sits below the western escarpment of the Cotswold Hills, encircled by five sweeping valleys. Stroud has been described as "The Covent Garden of the Cotswolds". Stroud is a well-known centre for arts and crafts and the weekly Farmers Market has been voted the best in the country and the newly completed indoor Five Valleys shopping centre is a fantastic attraction. An annual textile festival is held in the town as well as various exhibitions at the Subscription Rooms and at The Museum in the Park. Stroud has a wealth of local pubs and restaurants and the very well regarded Stroud brewery offering great social events with ethical and organic beer has become a very cherished landmark . Enjoyed by our family for 10 years, from the moment we first looked around we knew we had found a gem. We fell in love with the peaceful, private and safe location, which falls hand in hand with an easy 8 minute walk into town and to the station. We loved the huge windows that flood the house with light and spent many years renovating the property to make the most of the space both indoor and out. We fitted a large deck at the back of the house that overlooks the Painswick Stream and The Long Ground (a green space maintained by the council that is gradually being planted with many trees and wild flowers). If you’re lucky you’ll get to see the deer's grazing on The Long Ground and keep your eyes peeled for kingfishers by the stream! The added bonus of the property being on a private road, with a private parking space and a garage is quite a rarity in Stroud, especially so close to town!

This tucked away terraced row of 8 houses has a real community feel, many of the residents have lived here for more than 10 years (some since the houses were built!) and we absolutely love that The Hill feels so green and peaceful, yet has everything you could need on its doorstep.
